Own Your Pain

The worst kind of pain is the kind you feel in your soul. It slowly devours everything and weighs you down, until you can't move. It hurts more than any burn, any bruise, any scar, because it feels like it can't heal. No matter what you do, it's just always there inside of you, but no one can see it. And for me I have dealt with that pain. But I have healed myself more times than you could even imagine. I wear my trauma like war paint. I wipe my tears before they even have a chance to roll off of my cheeks. I'm a healer and some might say, I'm one of the dangerous ones. I have a big heart and a beautiful soul, and I love fiercely. I'm dangerous because I have dealt with a lot of pain and somehow managed to still survive. I am still here. And I refuse to let the pain I feel disrupt the joy that is coming my way.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - Romans 12:21

Throughout all the pain I have felt the one thing that has held me together was God. And yes, pain demands to be felt, memories were made to relive, and God, He was meant to be there for it all. That pain, the soul sucking, mind killing pain I was talking about. You survived it because God knew you could. Everything in your life was meant to happen for your life to be where it is now. It is helping you grow and learn things that may help you with any bumps you cross in the future. Don't be ashamed to wear your trauma like war paint. Be proud of the worst pain you have felt. Because you are a warrior for being able to survive it.
